Barcelona v Bayern Munich Odds Hosts against the odds to conjure up miracle comeback

Barcelona face a virtually impossible task at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night when they attempt to come back from a 4-0 first-leg defeat to Bayern Munich. The Catalans endured a night to forget at the Allianz Arena last week but if anyone can conjure up the greatest comeback in Champions League history then it is Lionel Messi and co.Bayern were simply electric last Tuesday. Jupp Heynckes’ men magnificently controlled the match from start to finish thanks to their blink-of-an-eye ability to rapidly transform from a solid defensive unit into a blistering attacking threat. The stunning four goal margin of their first-leg victory makes them the overwhelming 1/50 favourites with Paddy Power to progress through to the Final, while they can be backed at 14/5 to rub salt into the wounds of the Spaniards by claiming a win at the Nou Camp.History is against Barcelona considering that no team has ever overturned a 4-0 deficit after the first-leg of a Champions League knockout game. Their failure to score an away goal makes their task all the more difficult but if you delve into the club’s recent history it offers Barca fans a glimmer of hope. The Catalans have won their last three European knockout home games against German sides by four goals, including a 4-0 win against Bayern Munich in 2009. Furthermore they recently thumped AC Milan 4-0 at home in the quarter-finals.Their home form is also very strong. They are on a 21 game unbeaten run at the Nou Camp in Europe, with their last defeat in the competition dating back four years. Many will fancy Tito Vilanova’s men at 5/6 to win on home soil but they have long odds of 10/1 to make it through to the Final. Read More

Arsenal v Man Utd Odds Back Robin Van Persie to score on Emirates return

Old rivals Arsenal and Manchester United lock horns at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon in what promises to be an engaging encounter in North London. The Gunners simply need to win in order to boost their chances of a top-four finish, while newly crowned champions United will be looking to take a step closer to breaking the record points haul set by Chelsea in 2004/05.Ladbrokes have installed the hosts as the narrow 5/4 favourites to record a valuable win that will definitely see them end the weekend in third place, regardless of the Tottenham and Chelsea scores. United may already have sealed their 20th top-flight title but they will still be a real threat and can be backed at 2/1 to come away with the win, while a draw is available at 5/2.The major talking point is undoubtedly Robin Van Persie who ironically returns to the Emirates as a Premier League champion having secured his side the title last week, courtesy of a stunning hat-trick in a 3-0 win at home to Aston Villa. This took the Dutchman’s tally to a remarkable 24 and he looks set to win the Golden Boot as Luis Suarez is banned for the rest of the season. With five goals in his last three games RVP is in inspired form and can be backed at 9/2 in both the first and last goalscorer markets, while he is available at just 5/4 to net anytime. The former Gunners favourite scored in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season and has also found the back in the last three meetings between the clubs, although two of those goals were for his former side.Since United lost to Arsenal in the 2004/05 FA Cup Final they have gone on to win five Premier League crowns, the Champions League, three League Cups and four Community Shields, while Arsenal have failed to win any silverware. A motivated United now have their sights set on registering a record points haul and in order to achieve this feat they must win each of their remaining four games, starting with Arsenal on Sunday.Their electric performances this season suggests that they have every chance of achieving this. They have only been beaten twice in their last 22 league games, and haven’t lost away from home in 10 games dating back to mid-November. Furthermore their record against the Gunners is superb, having won six of the last seven Arsenal v Man Utd league games, including the last three. Fergie’s men therefore look a decent bet at 9/1 to come away with a 2-1 win, as they did last season, while they be found at 11/4 to win with RVP getting his name on the scoresheet. While the Gunners may have a poor recent record against United in contrast their league form has been strong of late and they head into the match with just one defeat in their last 12 games. Furthermore they have picked up an impressive 16 points from a possible 18 and will be desperate to get one over their old foes and rupture their chances of breaking the points record, while in the process boosting their own chances of finishing in the top four for the 17th consecutive season under Arsene Wenger. They can be backed at 9/1 to claim a 1-0 win but with United scoring in their last 22 consecutive league games it seems unlikely that they won’t find the back of the net on Saturday, which perhaps makes a 2-1 home win a more tempting bet at 8/1.Arsenal will be without striker Olivier who is suspended for three games after getting sent off against Fulham, meaning Wenger will need the likes of Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott to step up to the plate, with both players available at 11/5 to get their names on the scoresheet. Meanwhile Santi Cazorla scored the last time the teams met and can be backed at 5/2 to do so again on Sunday.Wayne Rooney has scored 10 times against Arsenal and can be backed at 6/1 to open the scoring on Sunday. Now the title is won there is every chance that Sir Alex Ferguson may opt to play the likes of Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck who are available at 21/ and 5/2 respectively to score during the match. Both Arsenal (18) and Man Utd (15) have made a habit of scoring late goals this season and another late show could be on the cards at the Emirates. The second-half is priced at 21/20 to produce the most goals, while there are currently odds of 37/20 for the game to be level after 75 minutes. The Gunners also have odds of 37/20 to score between 75th minute and full time, while Man Utd are priced at 23/10 in the latest betting with LadbrokesArsenal v Man Utd Form Read More

Peterborough v Sheffield Wednesday Odds Goals on the cards in relegation clash

It can be argued that every single match is crucial at this pivotal late stage in the season, however, there won't be many more important relegation clashes than Peterborough (21st) verses Sheffield Wednesday (18th). The Championship relegation-rivals lock horns at London Road on Saturday evening live on Sky Sports in what promises to be an engaging encounter between two sides that are desperate to preserve their second-tier status.Peterborough are currently hovering dangerously above the drop zone, with just goal difference separating them from Wolves (22nd) and Barnsley (23rd), meaning they could find themselves in the drop zone by the time the game gets underway.Meanwhile Sheff Wed are four points clear of the bottom three, so if they can come away with the win they will be assured of Championship football next season. A point could also be enough for survival but only if both Wolves and Barnsley lose earlier in the day. However, a defeat would drag them right into the mix and set up a nervy final day clash at home to Middlesbrough.Peterborough’s recent good form makes them the hot 6/5 favourites with Paddy Power for the win. The Posh recently went on a staggering 10 game unbeaten run, although that came to an end last weekend at Derby. Meanwhile Wednesday, who are without a win in three games, can be backed at 21/10 to record a vital victory which keeps them in the league. Alternatively a draw is priced at 12/5.The most recent three meetings between the sides have produced a whopping 16 goals at an average of 5.3 a game. The last clash at London Road contained eight goals, with Posh coming out 5-2 winners. Considering that Darren Ferguson’s men have conceded a whopping 39 goals at home this season we can expect a few more goals on Saturday, with over 3.5 goals available at 2/1. Furthermore both teams have scored in the last seven encounters, and that can be extended to eight in a row at a price of 8/13.Posh have fared well at home of late and they head into the match unbeaten at London Road in five matches. Their last five home wins have all been by a single goal and they can be backed at 11/10 to win by that margin yet again, while a 3-1 scoreline could be worth a punt at 16/1. Read More

Hungarian Act Favourite To Win Britains Got Talent

The launch of the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent aired last Saturday amidst a torrent of PR which seemed to concentrate on the possibility of finding a novelty act rather than a vocalist. Simon Cowell was not to be disappointed when dance troop Attraction, who specialize in a unique form of shadow play, took to the stage. Amanda Holden, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell were mesmerized by the act and the silence of the live audience for once marked their appreciation rather than their disapproval. Visit Las Vegas

Nestled in the Nevada desert - only an hour flight from Los Angeles -is the most awe-inspiring city -and it's called Las Vegas! Hotel casinos of the magnitude you can only imagine - each occupying acres of land, and each one more spectacular than the previous. Outlandish, opulent, elegant, garish - all words used to describe them.

Start your trip by touring the strip (Las Vegas Boulevard) - and checking out what each casino has to offer - you'll be amazed.

gambling - the main thrust of the city: millions upon millions of slot machines - from the minute you step off the plane! But - don't forget there's also the World Series Poker -incorporating the famous Texas hold poker; blackjack; craps; bingo; keno; roulette; and more..

But - Vegas is not just about gambling - it's about entertainment:

There's shows, reviews, latest artists, musicians, magicians, etc..

Theatre and shows play a huge part - attracting top acts and artists from around the world. Don't miss the opportunity to see Celine Dion, Elton John, Jimmy Buffet or Jerry Seinfeld perform live! And there's David Copperfield, Cats, the Chippendales, Mamma Mia, cirque de soleil, or the Folies Bergere! And then there's - the Neil Diamond tribute; Elvis-a-rama; Barbra and Frank or a tribute to Liberace!

Shopping - there is a plethora of fashion boutiques, souvenir shops, department stores including Saks Fifth Avenue, antique stores - nearly two dozen, of consistent quality and price, nearly all located within a few blocks of each other. And there's Las Vegas Outlets Mall a factory-outlet center just a few miles past the southern end of the Strip - famous brand names - up to 70% off!

Restaurants - today Las Vegas is recognized as one of the world's great dining destinations, with a long list of renowned chefs and spectacular restaurants that are renowned for their lavishness, architecture and creativity.

Fine dining, buffets, coffee houses, burger joints and family restaurants - they're all there! Whether your taste is Asian, Italian, seafood, Greek, Cantonese, vegan, Japanese, Peruvian, Mexican, French, Puerto Rican, or a steak house - you will be catered for.

Night clubs - most of the casinos have nightclubs - which one to choose?

Wine bars - House of Blues, Ghostbar, Tangarine, Top of the World, Red Square, Gilleys - to name but a few!

Or..perhaps you'd like to play a round or two of golf? Try Shadow Creek Golf Club, Reflection Bay Golf Club, Tournament Players Club, Bali Hai Golf Club, Badlords Golf Club or Dragon Ridge Golf Club.

Take a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon - about 300km from Las Vegas - you can choose from a half day, full day or overnight stay - absolutely spectacular scenery!

Or...perhaps you're going to Vegas to have a wedding!

Well, you've come to the right place. All you need is $55, identification and a social security number to get the license. You don't even need to bring the rings, flowers, wedding dress, or tuxedo - all can be provided with the minimum of fuss!

And there is more to choose from other than the Little White Wedding Chapel (Britney Spears) or a drive-thru wedding (would you like fries with that?)!

There's the Little Church of the West; Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel; Wedding Chapel at Bellagio (very elegant); Island Wedding Chapel (tropicana theme); Aladdin Wedding Chapel; Canterbury Wedding Chapel (at the Excalibur - with a medieval theme); Chapel in the Clouds (Stratosphere); the Palace Chapel (in Caesars Palace); the pirate ship in front of Treasure Island; at the top of the Eiffel tower in front of the Paris Hotel; or while riding in a gondola at the Venetian.

So..whatever you do..plan ahead and have a fantastic trip .... VIVA LAS VEGAS!!

How to Throw a Poker Party

Throwing a poker party is becoming an incredibly popular game not only here in the United States, but all over the world. Unfortunately, not as many women are into the game and have become quite exasperated with this addiction.

Poker is predominantly a man's game. The only women who seem to be interested in poker are either trying to hook up with one of the male players, or she is a certified cheater! Well, that's not true at all. There are some outstanding female poker players, it's just that there's a lot more guys than gals playing the game. I don't know if part of poker's appeal has to do with the word itself. Young guys are amused quite easily and can be painfully immature. Perhaps there is an overriding sexual connotation found in the word poker itself that subconsciously draws them in. Whatever the appeal, women in general or with the smoke-filled rooms that host the games. The sooner men get this through their heads, the happier we all will be.

So, in the name of peace and harmony, here's a few tips:

If you're considering having a poker party, then the players should pretty much gone being without female companionship for the evening. I don't know what it is - perhaps a combination of things: from entirely too much testosterone in one place, gorging themselves on way too much pizza and beer, smoking smelly cigars and telling salacious stories, but when the games over its probably a good idea to grab a shower and go to bed. No woman that I know of is going to want to spend the rest of her evening with a guy who's been hanging out in the smoke-filled poker room the entire night.

In fact if you want your lady friend to care about your gaming skills at all, the only way to bring it up is by buying her something really lavish and then nonchalantly slipping into the conversation that you bought this special gift with your winnings. Telling stories of your poker prowess aren't going to put you in good steed with your lady, unless of course you use your winnings to buy her something nice.

Never ever admit that you were cleaned out in a game. You will probably get a lecture and the next time you want to play, a hard time. You will get virtually no sympathy and future poker party plans will be out the window. Also realize that she will never forget about it.

When all is said and done, some things are just better done on your own, with your own kind. Let the women have their ladies nights and we will have ourselves a poker party.

Virtual Casino Etiquette

What is etiquette? The most common interpretation arises from a certain behavioral code acceptable in specific social context or the practices and forms prescribed by social convention or by authority. This code of behavior depends on social setting and conveys the most powerful knowledge tool. For instance, a medical doctor does not use the same language to address everyone he or she speaks to in the hospital. A doctor may use an informal speech at home with family and friends, a more formal lingo with patients and an even more formal register with colleagues, which includes medical jargon and words associated with the medical field. Both the speaker and the addressee adjust their style of speaking and behavior to fit the setting with socially correct behavior and to avoid embarrassment.

Virtual casino also has its intriguing etiquette that a player should acknowledge before gambling online. A player cannot hide behind the online casino software where live interaction simply does not exist; on the contrary, the need to treat other players with respect becomes more important if not for the sake of others then for the sake of the player. A well-mannered player is actually a smart player, who concentrates on the game and leaves no time for stupidity and distractions, what eventually multiplies his winning chances.

Another very important point of etiquette that will credit the player in the long run is preceding knowledge of the rules of the game. Many online casinos offer the opportunity to initially play for free with play money and, therefore, become familiar with the appropriate procedures. Lack of understanding can make the gaming experience hard and empty player's wallet if he does not remember little catches or specifications. Gamblers, begin with games where you play with fun bucks before you are ready to play for real money!

It is inappropriate to pollute the chat with profanity, abusive language or poor jokes. Many people appreciate online casinos for their anonymous nature and if someone prefers to strictly play the game without any conversation, respect their choice. This also means refraining from using the chat feature to advertise business ventures, criticize the other players' techniques and discussing a hand in progress. Treat everyone the same way you would like to be treated.

Online casino games are often much faster and thus more appealing to many players, than live games. Please remember that most virtual casino websites have time limits which you need to adhere to when it is your turn to play. Players are certainly allowed to take a moment to consider their actions, but are requested to do so in timely manner as well as to avoid consistently slowing down the game as a courtesy to other participants. Players that intentionally slow down play will be warned and if such behavior continues may have their accounts suspended.

Online gaming enables players from all over the world to come together and play favorite casino games. It is natural for players from the same country or region to want to speak together in their native language. Unless you play at a specifically designated foreign-language table, use only English when communicating. This not only helps to defeat fears of collusion among players but also helps keep everyone on the same page as to what is going on during the game.

Remember that even though the action of the best online casinos lacks much of the protocol and etiquette of its physical counterpart, this certainly does not mean that anything goes. There remain certain rules which must be followed and respecting other players in terms of maintaining game speed and communicating appropriately ensures an enjoyable for everyone.

8 Top Tips for Becoming a Professional Gambler in Horse Racing, Poker and Other Sports

Most folk are under the opinion that professional gamblers have one bet, play one game of poker, or some other form of gambling, and then collect the winnings and go back to their big mansion for a few months rest, before having another gamble!!

I pray it was like that, but in valid life it is vastly different. I personally work 10-12 hours a day, 360 days a year, and still do a bit on the days off, including Christmas day. When you see professional poker players they are spending 3-5 days at a table in a game every week, sometimes sitting for 12 hours, and when they are not doing that, they are at home playing poker on the computer.

So if you are looking for a relaxing life, do not take up betting as a profession. Yes it can pay well, very well, but you need to put in a lot of work, and it can be 2-3 years before you are making any meaningful hard cash. Anyone who tells you otherwise is possibly lying just to receive your hard cash.

When you see tipping advertisers stating things like "We made $26,000 to $100 stakes in the last 12 months", it looks sensational. However, they need to receive your attention as a 1/8th ad in a paper costs around $500, and they need that money back before turning a profit. And how innumerable average gamblers have $100 to bet, especially when you need a betting bank, and with $100 stakes, the cash you need before you even place one bet is around $3,500, any less and you can easily blow it all. Then divide the $26,000 by the $100 to work out how many points you make a year, and that is 260, then divide by 52 to see how numerous points profit a week, and that comes to 5pts a week. Wow!! If you are just starting off you are likely to only be using a realistic $5, so that is $25 a week average. That may not sound much but you have to learn to walk before you can run. If you cannot profit with 10c bets, how the hell will you profit with $100 bets?

Also think why various tipsters advertise every day. This is because they have such a considerable turnover; they need to keep replenishing the customer base. This does not always mean the tipster is rubbish, in some cases they may be profitable long term, but the average Joe Punter always wants profit NOW and every day, and average Joe points more than 5 points per week, whereas a full time professional would be happy with that.

If you are going to gamble to profit, then for the inaugural few months this should be your conditioning were you will be doing a lot of work for little return, but you will also learn how to handle losing runs, how to cope with mistakes, and if it does all go improper and you lose the betting bank, you should have learnt a lot from it for as little loss as possible, as you should only ever bet what you can afford to lose, especially while proving to yourself you can profit. You may have a spare $10,000 available, but prove you can profit with a $1000 bank maiden, and then add to the bank monthly.

So here are the 8 tips you need to learn, and stick to religiously if you want to stand a chance of ever making money from gambling.

1. Patience: If you want big profits now, try the lottery. Building up you betting banks takes time a lot of time.

2. Betting Banks: If you do not have a betting bank to emergence with, and you are just betting from whatever is in your pocket, you will never make a profit. It is as simple as that. Most punters lie to themselves that they are breaking even. Do not do that, be truthful.

3. Staking: You see betting plans for sale on EBay, most of them may make you a few dollars quickly, but it is 100% guaranteed they will bust your bank as these are designed by amateurs who have no understanding of gambling maths in the real world. Always onset with levels, if you cannot make hard cash with that simple staking plan you will not make bankroll with anything more complicated. Once you have proven over a few months you can turn a profit with level stakes, and then you can switch to each bet being between 1%-3% of the bank. Most professionals will emergence at 3%, but get it down to 1% as the bank grows.

4. Bank Management: Managing banks is not just staking, it also involves listing every bet on a spreadsheet so you can monitor things like average odds, strike rate, losing runs, etc. If you do not list every bet, you will have no idea where you stand, and no way of having data to look back and learn from.

5. Risk Management: Most people follow one tipster, or one system. This is usually suicide, you do not see the big boys in the city markets investing everything in one stock do you? No. They spread it around, and so should you. Use a number of systems, proven tipsters, method bets, etc. And ensure you have a separate betting bank for each (you can use the same betting account, as the spreadsheets you keep will tell you the amount which is in each bank).

6. Alcohol: NEVER drink while betting, you will bet more than you should, you will bust banks, you will play bets you would never do when sober.

7. Forums: Join a forum where you can bite ideas, this can prove a powerful aid, but make sure it is a decent one, and not full of idiots just spouting off how good they are!

8. Fun Bets: You are often told not to do any 'fun bets' if you wish to turn professional, but this will not happen, as it is hard to break old habits at first. The best way to treat fun bets is to handle them as you would any pro bets. Separate betting bank, list all bets, and it will not be long before you lose the bank and realise how wonderful your own tipping is!
